Oxford theologian Dr Eve will be speaking to us about the gospels, and whether Atheists and Christians have common ground in reading them from a historical perspective. This should be a night of lively debate!

Oliver Curry

“How Darwin Demystified Morality”.
What makes humans moral without religion? Oliver Curry will describe how Darwin's great insight - evolution by natural selection - can explain the development of morality without a need for Godly certainties. Oliver Curry is a post-doctoral researcher in the Institute of Cognitive and Evolutionary Anthropology at the University of Oxford. In his publications on morality and evolution, he has argued that 'adaptations for cooperation' created ‘moral instincts’ such as loyalty, trust, guilt - and retribution.

Lord Harrison
- Roy Griffiths Room, Keble
Lord Harrison, a Labour Peer and former MEP, will be speaking to us about secularism and the House of Lords. He is a distinguished supporter of Humanism and has debated and challenged for the rights of atheists in Parliament. An experienced public speaker, Lord Harrison will honour the Oxford Atheists on thursday 26th November in Keble College

Professor Roger Trigg

Roger Trigg will be speaking on "Religious freedom in a secular society". He is Emeritus Professor of Philosophy in the University of Warwick and a Senior Research Fellow at the OU Faculty of Theology.
