Published at 17:05 on 15/02/2011

Quentin Brodie-Cooper - 'What being a Bright means to me'
Published at 11:53 on 01/02/2011
This week on Thursday Quentin Brodie-Cooper will be talking about the Brights movement – which got much publicity from “the God Delusion” and pretty much every book by Sam Harris. The concept came about to try and rebrand atheism from what is often a very negative word to one which is much more positive (much like homosexuality and being gay). The talk will most likely be at 20:00 in the Seminar Room, Corpus Christi College.
First Week pub meet
Published at 23:18 on 19/01/2011
On Thursday 1st Week, OxASH will be meeting in the Lamb and Flag at 8pm to have a drink and discuss the various issues of the day; topics might include why the Pope isn’t so bad after all, how everyone still loves Nick Clegg and what order the words “Atheism, Secularism and Humanism” should go in the OxASH logo.
There isn't much notice because I wasn't paying enough attention. Alternative excuse: we were all too busy with Think Week! Which may feature a certain Big Name. Who, naming no names, shall remain nameless. More details next week.
Hilary Term with OxASH
Published at 18:22 on 10/01/2011
A bright new term of Atheist, Secular and Humanist events awaits you here at OxASH - not least because 6th Week of this term features the second annual Think Week! Everyone loves free events, so I hope you'll hasten on over to the website for the week. Details of events will be posted there, and emailed to those on our mailing list, very shortly.
Incidentally, following the merger of the Oxford Atheist Society with the Oxford Secular Society, this website is moving to www.oxfordash.org.uk, although www.oxfordatheists.org.uk will continue to work as well.
